Rabbi Diane Tiferet Lakein moved to Boulder, CO, from Europe, where she previously served as the Rabbi of Chawurah Gescher (Freiburg, Germany) and Migwan (Basel, Switzerland). Currently, Rabbi Diane works as a freelance Rabbi, Educator and Spiritual Director in the United States as well as in Europe. She firmly believes that Judaism offers a treasure-trove of riches for learners of all ages and backgrounds. In working with individuals, groups and congregations, Rabbi Diane encourages and supports the exploration of Jewish knowledge and practices in ways that are heart-centered, grounded in ‘right action’ and informed by spiritual curiosity.
As part of the Spiritual Leadership Team at Congregation Nevei Kodesh, she enjoys teaching about Torah, Prayer and Jewish Renewal to both children and adults in Boulder and beyond. She also counsels and sponsors individuals seeking conversion.
Rabbi Diane Tiferet holds a Masters of Jewish Education from Hebrew College and received rabbinic ordination from ALEPH, the Alliance for Jewish Renewal. Earlier in her life she studied international politics and cultural anthropology (she graduated with a B.A. from Princeton University and an M.A. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor) – and has lived extended periods of her life abroad including in Sweden, Thailand, China, and Germany. She is happily married and the mother of two.
